Creating charts has never been easier
With Boards, all you need to do is ask. Creating a chart is as simple as a prompt (e.g. Show me revenue by day over the past four weeks) and choosing a visualization type - line chart, bar chart, pie chart, or table. Your Boards will automatically update with up-to-date data.

With Takes, AI analysis is one click away
Enhance your Boards with Takes that generate AI insights from other charts on the page. No need to spend your time sifting through data to get the important information - let AI do that for you. Select from Summary, Key Insights, Outliers, and Recommendations based on the type of insights you’re seeking.

Fully Customize your Board Layout
Resize and reorganize charts to customize the Board layout. You can also add headers and descriptions to provide more context for the information on the page.

Share with your team
Boards are set to Private by default, but change the visibility to Shared if you want others at your company to be able to view your Board, or Collaborative if you want to build a Board alongside a colleague.

The Copilot chat can now provide more thoughtful and accurate answers to your questions, give insight into its thought process as it arrives at responses, and support new visualization types. Give it a try here!
Improved Reasoning = Smarter Chat
The Copilot chat is now powered by a chat model with higher reasoning ability. This means it will make more frequent and targeted analysis of your business data when generating responses, as well as provide more thoughtful and creative recommendations. You can also expect the chat to be more accurate, especially to complex questions.
Here are a few questions that showcase the improved reasoning ability:
Please compile a comprehensive review of our June 2025 sales (including monthly trends) and provide three actionable recommendations to grow my revenue
Analyze the sales trends of my Top 10 menu items by total orders over the last three months and suggest a promotion I can run to grow sales for this group of items
Let’s create a promotional campaign to drive purchases of the menu item and modifier combinations that are most correlated with customer retention
Generally there is a trade-off between speed and reasoning depth in chat models - based on your feedback we have prioritized the latter. So if you see the chat taking more time to generate answers to more complicated questions, that’s because it’s working harder at an answer!
Visibility into Reasoning (Chain-of-Thought)
To go along with the more thoughtful chat model, you can now see details of the analysis the chat is performing to arrive at a response. You can also use this increased visibility to identify ideas for future analysis, or to prompt the chat to take into account additional information it did not consider in its original response.

Pie Chart Visualization Type
The Copilot chat now supports pie chart visualizations. The chat will identify opportunities on its own to visualize data this way, but you can always ask for this view specifically. You can also add these charts to your own custom dashboards - side note: there’s an exciting update to this feature coming this week!

Simplified Design
We made a few small changes to the Copilot chat to simplify the UI. If you’re looking for ideas for questions to ask about your business, you can hit the Need inspiration button, which has 20+ recommended prompts. Additionally, you can find information in the Help Center, the (?) button in the top right corner of the page.

With today’s updates, Copilot is now automatically pulling in third-party review data across Google and Yelp - check it out in the Chat and the new Reviews Dashboard. Toast customers can now also see menu data at the item modifier level - a commonly requested feature.
Customer Reviews
Hang Copilot is now automatically pulling in your Google and Yelp Review data and linking each review with the location to which it was submitted. You can also see the submitter, date, time, rating, and whether the review has an owner response. With this information, you can now ask the Chat questions like:
How many reviews were submitted last week and what was the average rating?
How does average review break down by time of day?
What are my best-reviewed locations? How are they trending over time?
Your review data can also be found in the new Customer Reviews dashboard, along with metrics like average rating, positive/negative reviews, location-based breakdown, and a list of all reviews on the All Reviews tab.

Expect new reviews to be available a few hours (3-6) after they are submitted to the third-party site. Review data is backfilled for at least six months for each location.
Modifier-level Menu Data (Toast only)
Copilot now pulls every modifier (e.g., “Extra Cheese,” “No Pickles”) and links it to the parent menu item, so you can ask the Chat things like:
If someone orders a Poke Bowl with sushi rice, which protein do they typically pick?
Which modifiers are most popular at lunch vs. dinner?
Give me an idea for a new menu item based on my modifier data
Additionally, any dashboard that has an item filter now supports filtering on modifiers:

Welcome to the new generation of restaurant analytics. Today we’re launching with the first version of our chat which enables you to analyze and visualize your Toast restaurant data using natural language prompts.
